Genesis Chapter 16

Now Sarai, Abram's wife, did not give birth. But she had a female slave, an Egyptian whose name was Hagar.
Sarai said to Abram, The Lord has kept+ me from bearing a child, so I offer+ you to go in to my maid. It may be that I may obtain a child through her. So Abram accepted+ the voice of Sarai.
So Sarai, Abram's wife, took Hagar, her slave woman, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife after Abram had lived in the land of Canaan ten years.
Abram went in to Hagar and she conceived. When Sarai saw that Hagar had conceived, the mistress was despised in her eyes.
Sarai said to Abram, My wrong be upon you. I have given my slave woman to you and when she saw that she had conceived, I became despised in her eyes. The Lord judge between me and you.
But Abram said to Sarai, Behold, your slave woman is yours. Do to her as you please. So Sarai dealt harshly with Hagar and she fled.
But the angel of the Lord found Hagar by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain on the way to Shur.
He said to Hagar, Sarai's slave, Where did you come from and where will you go? She said, I fled from my mistress Sarai.
The angel of the Lord said to her, Return to your mistress and submit yourself to her.
The angel of the Lord then said to her, I will multiply your descendants exceedingly so that they will not be numbered for multitude.
The angel of the Lord then said to her, Behold. You are with child and will bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael because the Lord has heard your affliction.
He will be a wild man. His hand will be against every man and every man's hand against him. He will live in the presence of all his brothers.
She called the name of the Lord who had spoken to her, You are a God of vision. For she said, Even here have I looked after Him who sees me?
Therefore the well was called The Well of the Living One Seeing Me. Behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.
Then Hagar bore Abram a son and Abram called his son's name that Hagar bore, Ishmael.
Abram was 86 years old when Hagar bore Ishmael to Abram.
