Genesis Chapter 22

After these things, God tested Abraham and said to him, Abraham. And he said, Behold me.
He said, Take now your son, your only one, Isaac, whom you love. And go into the land of Moriah, and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains that I will name to you.
Abraham rose early in the morning, saddled his donkey, took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son. He split wood for the burnt offering and rose and went to the place that God had told him.
Then on the third day, Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place far off.
Abraham said to his young men, You stay here with the donkey and the boy and I will go yonder to worship and then come again to you.
Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son. He took the fire and a knife and they both went together.
Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, My father. He said, Here am I my son. He said, Behold the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
Abraham said, My son, God will provide a lamb for a burnt offering. So they both went together.
They came to the place where God had told him to go. Abraham built an altar there and laid the wood in order. Then he bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on the wood.
Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.
Then the angel of the Lord called to him from the heavens and said, Abraham, Abraham. He said, Here am I.
He said, Do not lay your hand on the lad nor do anything to him. For I know now that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.
Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, a ram behind him was entangled in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham took the ram and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son.
Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh The Lord Will See. So it is to this day. It can be seen in the mountain of the Lord.
The angel of the Lord called to Abraham out of the heavens a second time.
He said, I have sworn by myself, says the Lord, Because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,
in blessing I will bless you and in multiplying I will multiply your descendants like the stars of the heavens and like the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will possess the gate of their enemies.
In your descendants, all the nations of the earth will be blessed because you have obeyed my voice.
Abraham returned to his young men and they rose and went together to Beersheba. Then Abraham lived at Beersheba.
After this, Abraham was told, Behold Milcah. She also has borne children to your brother Nahor.
Huz his firstborn and Buz his brother. Kemuel the father of Aram.
Chesed and Hazo and Pildash and Jidlaph and Bethuel.
And Bethuel fathered Rebekah. These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham's brother.
His concubine named Reumah also bore Tebah and Gaham and Thahash and Maachah.
