Genesis Chapter 39

Joseph was brought down to Egypt. And Potiphar, a eunuch of Pharaoh, the chief of the executioners, an Egyptian man, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had brought him down there.
The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man. And he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
His master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand.
Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him. And he made him overseer over his house, and he put into his hand all he had.
From the time that he made him overseer in his house and over all he had, the Lord blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake. The blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field.
He left all that he had in Joseph's hand and he did not know anything that he had except the bread that he ate. Joseph was beautiful in form and beautiful in appearance.
After this, his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph and she said, Lie with me.
But he refused and said to his master's wife, Behold, my master does not know what is in the house with me and he has given all that he has into my control+.
There is none greater in this house than I. Neither has he kept back anything from me except you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?
As she spoke to Joseph day by day, he did not listen to her or lie with her or be with her.
About this time, he came into the house to do his work, and none of the men of the house were inside.
She caught him by his robe saying, Lie with me. But he left his robe in her hand and fled and got out.
When she saw that he had left his robe in her hand and fled,
she called to the men of her house and spoke to them saying, See, he has brought in a Hebrew to us to mock us. He came in to me, to lie with me, and I cried out with a loud voice.
When he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried out, he left his robe with me, and fled, and got out.
She laid up his robe beside her until his lord came home.
She spoke to him according to these words saying, The Hebrew servant that you have brought to us came in to me to mock me.
As I lifted up my voice and cried out, he left his robe with me and ran out.
When his master heard the words of his wife that she spoke to him saying, your servant did this to me, his wrath was kindled.
Joseph's master took him and put him in the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were bound. And he was there in the prison.
But the Lord was with Joseph, and showed him mercy, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
The keeper of the prison gave all the prisoners in the prison into Joseph's hand. And whatever they did there, he was the doer of it.
The keeper of the prison did not look to anything under his hand, because the Lord was with him. And whatever he did, the Lord made it to prosper.
