Nehemiah Chapter 7

1 When the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and the gatekeepers and the singers and the Levites were chosen,
2 I gave my brother Hanani and Hananiah the ruler of the palace charge over Jerusalem. For he was a faithful man and feared God more than many.
3 I said to them, Do not let the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun is hot. And while they stand by, let them shut and bar the doors. And set guards from the people of Jerusalem, each one in his watch, and each one to be across from his house.
4 The city was large and great, but the people in it were few, and the houses not built.
5 My God put into my heart to gather together the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, so that they might be counted by genealogy. And I found a register of the genealogy of those who came up at the first. And I found written in it:
6 These are the children of the province who left the captivity, of those who had been carried away, whom King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon had carried away. They came again to Jerusalem and to Judah, every one to his city,
7 and came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:
8 The children of Parosh, 2,072.
9 The children of Shephatiah, 372.
10 The children of Arah, 652.
11 The children of Pahathmoab, of The children of Jeshua and Joab, 2,818.
12 The children of Elam, 1,254.
13 The children of Zattu, 845.

61 These were they who went from Telmelah, Telharesha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer. But they could not show their father's house, nor their descendants, whether they were of Israel:
62 The children of Delaiah, The children of Tobiah, The children of Nekoda, 642.
63 Of the priests: The children of Habaiah, The children of Koz, The children of Barzillai, who took one of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite to wife, and was called after their name.
64 These sought their register among those who were reckoned by genealogy, but it was not found. Therefore they were put out, as defiled from the priesthood.
65 The governor said to them that they should not eat of the holy things until there stood up a priest with Urim and Thummim.
66 All the congregation together was 42,360.
67 Plus their man servants and maid servants were 7,337 and they had 245 singing men and women.
68 Their were 736 horses, 245 mules,
69 435 camels, and 6,720 donkeys.
70 Some of the chiefs of the fathers gave to the work. The governor gave to the treasury a thousand darics of gold, 50 basins, and 530 priest's garments.
71 Some of the chiefs of the fathers gave to the treasury of the work 20,000 darics of gold, and 2,200 minas of silver.
72 What the rest of the people gave was 20,000 darics of gold, 2,000 minas of silver, and 67 priests' garments.
73 The priests, and the Levites, and the gatekeepers, and the singers, and some of the people, and the temple slaves, and all Israel, lived in their cities. And when the seventh month came, the children of Israel were in their cities.
