 1 Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord and who delight greatly in His commandments. 2 His descendants will be mighty on earth. The generation of the upright will be blessed. 3 Wealth and riches will be in their house. His righteousness stands forever. 4 To the upright, there arises light in the darkness. He is gracious and full of pity and righteousness. 5 A good man shows favor and lends. He will guide his business with fairness. 6 Surely he will not be moved forever. The righteous will be remembered forever. 7 He will not be afraid of bad news. His heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. 8 His heart is sure. He will not be afraid though he sees his oppressors. 9 He has scattered abroad. He has given to the poor. His righteousness endures forever. His horn will be lifted up with honor. 10 The wicked will see and be vexed. They will gnash their teeth and melt away. The desire of the wicked will perish.
