 1 When I came to you, family+, I did not come with excellent speech or wisdom, declaring to you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined to not know anything among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. 3 I was with you in weakness and fear and much trembling. 4 My speech and my proclaiming+ was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 so that your faith would not stand on the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 6 However we speak wisdom among those who are perfect~, but it is not the wisdom of this world or of the princes of this world who come to nothing. 7 But we speak the wisdom that God hid in mystery. And God predetermined+ all this for our glory before the world began. 8 None of the princes of this world understood+ this. For if they had understood it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But as it is written: Eye has not seen nor ear heard nor has it entered the heart of mankind+, the things that God has prepared for those who love Him. Isaiah 64:4 10 But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit, for the Spirit searches all things. Yes, the deep things of God. 11 For who understands+ the things of mankind+, except+ the spirit within them? Likewise, no one understands the things of God but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit of God, so that we might know the things that are freely given to us by God. 13 We do not speak in the words taught by the wisdom of mankind, but in words taught by the Holy Spirit, considering and comparing spiritual concepts with spiritual words. 14 For natural man does not comprehend+ the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to them. Neither can they know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But those who are spiritual judge all things. Yet they themselves are judged by no one. 16 For who has known the mind of the Lord, that they might presume to instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ. Isaiah 40:13,14
