2 Timothy Chapter 2

1 Therefore my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2 Entrust+ the things that you heard from me among many witnesses to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
3 Therefore, you must endure hardship+ as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4 No warrior+ becomes entangled with the affairs of this life, so that the one who chose the soldier might be pleased.
5 If anyone competes+ in something, they cannot be crowned as a winner unless+ they competed+ lawfully.
6 Moreover, the grower+ who labors must be the first partaker of the fruits.
7 Consider what I say. May the Lord give you understanding in everything+.
8 Remember that Jesus Christ, who was from the seed of David, was raised from the dead, according to my understanding of the Gospel.
9 In proclaiming this, I suffer hardship+ like an evil doer, even to chains+. But the Word of God is not bound.
10 Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect~ so that they may also obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.
11 This is a faithful saying. For if we have died with Him, then we will also live with Him. Romans 6:5
12 If we suffer, we will also reign with Him. But if we deny Him, then He will also deny us. Matthew 10:33
13 If we do not believe, Jesus remains+ faithful, nevertheless. He cannot deny Himself.
14 Remind everyone about these things, charging them before the Lord that they not argue+ over words to no benefit+ or to the subverting of the hearers.
15 Study to show yourself approved to God, a worker+ who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.
16 Shun worldly+ and vain babblings. For they will increase to more ungodliness.
17 Their word will spread+ like cancer+. Consider Hymenaeus and Philetus
18 who, concerning the truth, have erred by saying that the resurrection is already past. This overthrows the faith of some.
19 Nevertheless, the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal: The Lord knows those who are His. And: Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth. Some to honor, and some to dishonor.
21 Therefore, if anyone purges themselves from these wicked things, they will be a vessel to honor, sanctified and fitting+ for the master's use and prepared for every good work.
22 Flee youthful lusts. But follow righteousness, faith, true love, and peace with all who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 Avoid foolish and uninstructive+ questions, knowing that they provoke+ strife.
24 The servant of the Lord must not strive, but must be gentle toward everyone+, able to teach, patient,
25 in meekness instructing those who oppose so that perhaps+ God will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth.
26 Thus they might awaken+ out of the snare of the devil, after being taken captive by him to do his will.
