2 Timothy Chapter 3

1 Know this also: That in the last days, perilous times will come.
2 For people+ will be lovers of themselves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 without affection, unforgiving+, false accusers, unrestrained+, fierce, hateful+,
4 disloyal+, headstrong+, arrogant+, and lovers of pleasure~ rather+ than lovers of God.
5 They have a form of piety+, but deny the power of it. Turn away from these.
6 For among them are some who enter+ into houses and lead into captivity naive+ women burdened+ with sins, led away with many different+ lusts.
7 They are ever learning, but never able to come to knowledge of truth.
8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed+ Moses, so do these also resist the truth. They are people+ of corrupt minds, reprobate~ concerning the faith.
9 But they will progress+ no further, for their folly will be revealed+ to everyone+, as it was with Jannes and Jambres.
10 You, however, have fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, true love, patience,
11 persecutions, and afflictions that came to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra. What persecutions I endured. But out of them all the Lord delivered me.
12 Yes, and all who live godly lives in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
13 But evil men and imposters+ will grow+ worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.
14 But you must continue in the things that you have learned and have been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them.
15 From childhood you have known the holy Scriptures that are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is beneficial+ for doctrine, for proof+, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness,
17 so that God's people may become perfect~, thoroughly equipped to all good works.
