Galatians Chapter 2 1 Fourteen years later+, I again went to Jerusalem with Barnabas and also took Titus with me.2 I went according to the revelation I received and communicated to them the Gospel that I proclaim+ among the Gentiles. But I spoke privately to those of lofty reputation, lest by any means I should be running or had run, in vain.3 But even Titus who was with me, being Greek, was not compelled to be circumcised.4 Even though false brothers came+ in secretly+ to spy out our liberty that we have in Christ Jesus so that they might bring us into bondage.5 We did not yield+ in subjection to them, even for an hour, so that the truth of the Gospel might continue with you.6 But from those thought+ to be somebody+ important, what they were makes no difference+ to me. God does not receive one person above another. To me also, those of lofty reputation+ conveyed+ nothing special.7 On the contrary, they saw that the Gospel to the uncircumcision was committed to me just as the Gospel to the circumcision was to Peter.8 For He who worked+ in Peter for apostleship to the circumcision also worked+ in me for the Gentiles.9 When James, Cephas~, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given to me, they gave to me and to Barnabas the right hand of fellowship so that we might go to the Gentiles+ and they to the circumcision.10 Only they urged that we remember the poor, which I also was diligent+ to do.11 However, when Peter came to Antioch, I challenged+ him to his face, because he was to be blamed.12 Because, before certain ones came from James, Peter ate with the Gentiles. But when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those of the circumcision.13 The other Jews also joined in putting on a false pretense+ with Peter so that Barnabas was also carried away with their hypocrisy+.14 When I saw that they did not walk uprightly according to the truth of the Gospel, I said to Peter before them all: If you, being a Jew, live after the manner of Gentiles and not like the Jews, then why do you compel the Gentiles to live like the Jews?15 By nature, we are Jews and not sinners from the Gentiles.16 We know that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. We have believed in Jesus Christ so that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law. For no flesh will be justified by the works of the law.17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves are also found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? That cannot be+.18 For if I build again the things that I had destroyed, then I make myself a transgressor.19 For through the law, I died to the law so that I might live for God.20 I have been crucified with Christ, and yet+ I live. However, it is no longer I, but Christ living in me. And the life that I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.21 I do not reject+ the grace of God. For if righteousness is through the law, then Christ died in vain~.
