Genesis Chapter 6 1 When men began to multiply on the face of the earth and daughters were born to them,2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were good, so they took wives for themselves from all whom they chose.3 The Lord said, My spirit will not always strive with man in his erring. He is flesh. His days shall be 120 years.4 In those days, there were giants on the earth. After that, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them, they became mighty men who were of old, men of renown.5 The Lord saw that the wickedness of mankind was great in the earth and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.6 So the Lord regretted+ that He had made mankind on the earth and He was angry in His heart.7 So the Lord said, I will destroy mankind whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast and the creeping things and the fowls of the air. For I regret+ that I have made them.8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.9 These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations and Noah walked with God.10 Noah fathered three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.11 The earth also was corrupt before God and the earth was filled with violence.12 So God looked upon the earth and, behold, it was corrupted. For all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth.13 So God said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before me. For the earth is filled with violence through them. Therefore, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.14 Make an ark of cyprus timbers. Make rooms in the ark and pitch it inside and outside with pitch.15 This is the way you shall make it. The length of the ark shall be 300 cubits. The width of it shall be 50 cubits and its height 30 cubits.16 Make a window in the ark and finish it to a cubit above. You shall set the door of the ark in the side of it. Make it with lower, second, and third stories.17 Behold. I, even I, am bringing a flood of waters upon the earth in order to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life from under the heavens. Everything that is in the earth shall die.18 But I will establish my covenant with you. You shall come into the ark, you and your sons and your wife and your sons' wives with you.19 You shall bring into the ark two of every kind, of every living thing of all flesh, to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female.20 Two of every kind shall come to you to keep them alive: fowls after their kind, cattle after their kind, every creeping thing of the earth after its kind.21 Take for yourself all food that is eaten and gather for yourself. It will be for food for you and for them.22 Noah did so, according to all that God commanded him, so he did.
