Hebrews Chapter 2 1 Therefore we ought to give more earnest heed to the things that we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip away.2 For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast and every transgression and disobedience received a just repayment+ of reward,3 then how shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation, which at first began to be spoken by the Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him.4 God also testified+ about this, both with signs and wonders and with many different+ miracles~ and gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His will.5 For He has not put the world to come, about which we speak, in subjection to the angels.6 But in a certain place, one testified saying: What is mankind+ that you are mindful of them? Or the children of mankind+ that you visit them? Psalm 8:47 You made mankind+ a little lower than the angels. You crowned them with glory and honor and set them over the works of your hands. Psalm 8:58 You have put all things in subjection under their feet. For in that He put everything in subjection under them, He left nothing that is not put under them. But now we do not yet see everything that is put under them. Psalm 8:69 But we do see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death and crowned with glory and honor so that He, by the grace of God, would taste death for everyone+.10 For it was fitting+ for Him, for whom everything was made and by whom everything was made in bringing many children+ to glory to make the Captain of their Salvation perfect~ through sufferings.11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all of one, for which reason+ He is not ashamed to call them family+,12 saying: I will declare your name to my family+. In the midst of the assembly+ I will sing praise to you. Psalm 22:2213 And again: I will put my trust in Him. And again: Behold, I Am+, and behold the children that God has given to me. 2 Samuel 22:3 Isaiah 8:1814 Since+ the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same so that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is the devil,15 and deliver those who, through fear of death, were all their lifetime subject to bondage.16 For truly+ He did not take upon Himself the nature of angels, but He took upon Himself the seed of Abraham.17 Therefore, in all things it was essential+ for Him to be made like mankind+ so that He might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.18 For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to help+ those who are tempted.
