 1 Do not let your heart be troubled. You believe in God. Believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. Now I am going to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself so that where I am, there you may be also. 4 You know where I am going+, and you know the way. 5 Thomas said to Him: Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way? 6 Jesus said to him: I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, but by me. 7 If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From henceforth you know Him and have seen Him. 8 Philip said to Him: Lord show us the Father and it will be sufficient+ for us. 9 Jesus said to him: Have I been so long a time with you and yet have you not known me, Philip? Those who have seen me have seen the Father. How is it that you say then: Show us the Father? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak of myself, but the Father who dwells in me does the works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Or else believe me because+ of the very works themselves+. 12 Truly+, truly, I say to you: Those who believe in me will also do the works that I do, and greater works than these will they do because I go to my Father. 13 Whatever you ask in my name, that I will do so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in my name, I will do it. 15 If you love me, keep~ my commandments. 16 I will pray and ask+ the Father and He will give you another Comforter so that He may stay+ with you forever. 17 That comforter is the Spirit of Truth whom the world cannot receive because it does not see or know Him. But you know Him for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphaned+. I will come to you. Deuteronomy 31:6 19 Yet a little while and the world will see me no more. But you will see me. Because I live, you will also live. 20 At that day, you will know that I am in my Father and you are in me and I am in you. 21 Those who have my commandments and keep them + are the ones who truly love me. Those who love me will be loved by my Father and I will love them and will reveal+ myself to them. Proverbs 8:17 22 Then Jude, not Judas Iscariot, said to Him: Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us and not to the world? 23 Jesus answered and said to him: If anyone+ loves me, they will keep my words and my Father will love them and we will come to them and live+ within them. 24 Those who do not love me do not keep my Word+. The Word that you hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me. 25 I have spoken these things to you while I am still present~ with you. 26 But the Comforter is the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name. He will teach you all and remind+ you of all that I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not let it be afraid. 28 You have heard how I said to you: I am going away and I will come to you again. If you loved me, you would rejoice because I said: I am going to the Father. For my Father is greater than I. 29 Now I have told you before it comes to pass, so that when it has come to pass, you might believe. 30 Hereafter I will not talk with you very much more. For the prince of this world is coming and he has nothing in me. 31 But so that the world may know that I love the Father, as the Father has commanded me, even so I do. Now arise.
