Mark Chapter 3 1 Then Jesus entered the synagogue again, and there was a man there who had a withered hand.2 The Pharisees watched Him to see whether He would heal him on the Sabbath day so that they might accuse Him.3 Jesus said to the man who had the withered hand: Stand forth.4 And He said to them: Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath days or to do evil? To save life or to kill? But they remained silent+.5 When He had looked around+ at them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man: Stretch forth your hand, and he stretched it out and his hand was restored whole as the other.6 Then the Pharisees went forth and immediately+ took counsel with the Herodians against Him, to decide how they might destroy Him.7 But Jesus withdrew to the sea with His disciples and a great multitude from Galilee followed Him, and from Judea8 and from Jerusalem and from Idumaea and from beyond Jordan. And those from Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things He did, they also came to Him.9 He told His disciples that a small boat should wait for Him because of the multitude, lest they should overcrowd+ Him.10 For He had healed many so that all+ who had plagues pressed in upon Him to touch Him.11 Unclean spirits, when they saw Him, fell down before Him and cried out saying: You are the Son of God.12 And He strictly+ charged them to not make Him known.13 Then He went up into a mountain and called those whom He wanted+ and they came to Him.14 He appointed+ twelve to+ be with Him, so that He might send them forth to proclaim+ the Word15 and to have authority+ and power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons+.16 Simon He surnamed Peter.17 James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James He surnamed Boanerges, which is: the sons of thunder.18 The others were Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Canaanite,19 and Judas Iscariot who also betrayed Him. Then they went into a house20 and the multitude came together again so that they could not so much as eat bread.21 When His friends heard about it, they went out to lay hold on Him, for they said: He is beside Himself.22 Then the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said: He has Beelzebub and by the prince of the demons+ He casts out demons+.23 Jesus called them to Himself and said to them in parables: How can Satan cast out Satan?24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.25 If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.26 If Satan rise up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand but has met his end.27 No one can enter into a strong man's house and spoil his goods unless+ he first bind the strong man. Then he will spoil his house.28 Truly+ I say to you: All sins will be forgiven to the children+ of people+, and blasphemies with which + they blaspheme;29 but those who blaspheme~ against the Holy Spirit will have no forgiveness but are in danger of eternal damnation.30 He said this because they said: He has an unclean spirit.31 Then His brothers and mother came and, standing outside+, they sent for Him by calling out to Him.32 The multitude sat around+ Him and said to Him: Behold your mother and your brothers outside+ seek you.33 He answered them saying: Who are my mother or my brothers?34 And He looked around+ at those who sat around+ Him and said: Behold my mother and my brothers.35 For whoever does the will of God, the same is my brother and my sister and mother.
