Mark Chapter 11

When they came near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent forth two of His disciples
and said to them: Go into the village before+ you. As soon as you enter it, you will find a colt tied on which no one has ever sat. Loose it and bring it to me.
If anyone says to you: Why are you doing this? Say that the Lord has need of it and immediately+ he will send it here.
So they went away and found the colt tied by the door outside+ in a crossway+, and they loose it.
Certain of those who stood there said to them: What are you doing, loosing the colt?
The disciples said to them as Jesus had commanded, and they let them go.
Then they brought the colt to Jesus and cast their garments on it and He sat upon it. Matthew 21:5
Many spread their garments in the way. Others cut down branches off the trees and spread+ them in the way.
Those who went before and those who followed cried out saying: Hosanna. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.
Blessed be the kingdom of our father David that comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple. When He had looked around+ upon everything+ and now that the hour was already late, He went out to Bethany with the twelve.
On the next day, when they had come from Bethany, Jesus was hungry.
Seeing a fig tree with leaves at a distance+, He came closer to see if perhaps+ He might find anything on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for the time for figs was not yet.
But Jesus answered and said to it: No one shall eat fruit from you hereafter forever. His disciples heard this.
Then they came to Jerusalem and Jesus went into the temple and began to cast out those who bought and sold in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves.
He would not allow+ anyone to carry any vessel through the temple.
Then He taught them saying: Is it not written: My house shall be called the house of prayer by all nations? But you have made it a den of thieves. Matthew 21:13
The scribes and chief priests heard this and sought how they might destroy Him, for they feared Him because all the people were astonished at His doctrine.
Then, when evening+ had come, He went out of the city.
In the morning as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
Peter remembering+ what occurred earlier said to Him: Master, behold the fig tree that you cursed has withered away.
Jesus answering said to them: Have faith in God.
For truly+ I say to you that whoever says to this mountain: Be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in their heart, but believes that those things that they said shall come to pass, they shall have whatever they say.
Therefore I say to you: What things + you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them and you shall have them.
And when you stand praying: Forgive, if you have anything+ against anyone+ so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive your trespasses~.
But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses~.
Then they came again to Jerusalem and as He was walking in the temple, the chief priests and the scribes and the elders came to Him
and said to Him: By what authority do you do these things? And who gave you this authority to do these things?
Jesus answered and said to them: I will also ask of you one question. Answer me and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
The baptism of John: Was it from heaven or of men? Answer me.
They reasoned among+ themselves saying: If we say: From heaven, He will say: Why then did you not believe him?
But if we say: Of men, they feared the people for all the people considered+ that John was indeed a prophet.
So they answered and said to Jesus: We cannot tell. And Jesus answering said to them: Then neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.
