Mark Chapter 15

Immediately+ in the morning, the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council. Then they bound Jesus, carried Him away, and delivered Him to Pilate.
Pilate asked Him: Are you the King of the Jews? And He answering said to him: You say it.
The chief priests accused Him of many things, but He answered nothing.
Pilate asked Him again saying: Do you not answer? Behold how many things they witness against you.
But Jesus still+ answered nothing, so that Pilate marveled. Matthew 27:14
Now at the feast Pilate was to release one prisoner to them, whomever they desired.
And there was one named Barabbas who laid bound with those who had made insurrection with him, and Barabbas had committed murder in the insurrection.
Now the multitude began to cry aloud asking+ Pilate to do as he had always+ done for them.
But Pilate answered them saying: Do you want me to release the King of the Jews to you?
For he knew that the chief priests had delivered Jesus because+ of envy.
But the chief priests stirred up the people so that Pilate would release Barabbas to them instead.
Pilate answered and said to them again: Then what do you want me to do to Him whom you call the King of the Jews?
They cried out again: Crucify Him.
Then Pilate said to them: Why? What evil has He done? And they cried out all the more exceedingly: Crucify Him.
So Pilate, choosing+ to satisfy+ the people, released Barabbas to them and delivered Jesus, when he had flogged+ Him, to be crucified.
The soldiers led Him away into the hall called Praetorium, and they called together the whole company+ of soldiers.
They clothed Him with purple and made+ a crown of thorns and put it around+ His head.
And they began to salute Him saying: Hail, King of the Jews.
They struck+ Him on the head with a reed and spit on Him and bowing their knees worshiped Him.
When they had mocked Him, they took the purple off of Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him out to crucify Him.
Then they compelled one called Simon, a Cyrenian who passed by coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear His cross.
They brought Him to the place called Golgotha, which means+: The place of a skull.
They gave Him wine mingled with myrrh to drink, but He did not accept+ it.
When they had crucified Him, they divided+ His garments, casting lots upon them to decide what each one+ would+ take. Matthew 27:35
It was nine o'clock+ in the morning when+ they crucified Him.
The title+ of His accusation was written over Him: The King of the Jews.
And they crucified two thieves with Him: One at His right hand and the other at His left. Matthew 27:38
Thus the Scripture was fulfilled that says: He was numbered with the transgressors. Isaiah 53:12
Those who passed by railed at Him, shaking+ their heads and saying: Ah, you who would destroy the temple and build it again in three days: Matthew 27:41
Save yourself and come down from the cross.
Likewise also the chief priests, mocking, said among themselves with the scribes: He saved others, but He cannot save Himself. Matthew 27:42
Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross so that we may see and believe. And those who were crucified with Him reviled Him.
When twelve o'clock+ noon came, there was darkness over the whole land until three in the afternoon.
At three o'clock+ in the afternoon, Jesus cried out with a loud voice saying: Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani. That means+: My God, my God. Why have you forsaken me?
Some of those who stood by, when they heard this, said: Behold He calls Elijah.
One ran and filled a sponge full of vinegar and put it on a reed and gave it to Him to drink saying: Let Him alone. Let us see whether Elijah will come to take Him down.
Then Jesus cried out with a loud voice and expired+.
And the veil of the temple was torn+ in two from the top to the bottom.
When the centurion who stood near+ Him saw that He cried out and expired+, he said: Truly this man was the Son of God.
There were also women looking on from a distance+. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome.
This Salome was the one who, when He was in Galilee, followed Him and ministered to Him, along with many other women who came up with Him to Jerusalem.
Now when the evening+ had come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the Sabbath,
Joseph of Arimathaea, an honorable counselor who also waited for the kingdom of God, went in boldly to Pilate and asked+ for Jesus' body.
Pilate wondered+ if Jesus was already dead and, calling the centurion, he asked him whether He had been dead for long+.
When he knew it from the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.
Joseph bought fine linen, took Jesus down and wrapped Him in the linen, laid Him in a tomb+ cut+ out of a rock, and rolled a stone to the door of the tomb+.
And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses saw+ where He was laid.
