Matthew Chapter 2

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold wise men came from the east to Jerusalem Micah 5:2
saying: Where is He who is born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the east and have come to worship Him. Psalms 72:10..11
When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
When he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ would be born.
They said to him: In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet:
You Bethlehem in the land of Judah are not the least among the princes of Judah. For out of you will come a Governor who will rule my people Israel. Micah 5:2
Then Herod, when he had privately+ called the wise men, inquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.
He sent them to Bethlehem and said: Go and search diligently for the young child. When you have found Him, bring word to me so that I may come and worship Him also.
When they had heard the king, they departed. And behold, the star that they saw in the east went before them until it came and stood over where the young child was.
When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.
And when they came into the house, they saw the young child with Mary His mother and they fell down and worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented gifts to Him: gold and frankincense and myrrh.
Then being warned by God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed to their own country another way.
After they left, behold the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream saying: Arise and take the young child and His mother and flee into Egypt and stay there until I bring word to you. For Herod will seek the young child to destroy Him.
Then he arose and took the young child and His mother by night and went to Egypt.
They stayed there until the death of Herod, thus fulfilling what was spoken of the Lord by the prophet who said: Out of Egypt have I called my Son. Hosea 11:1
Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked by the wise men, was exceedingly angry+ and sent forth and killed+ all the male children in Bethlehem and in all the borders+ thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time learned+ from the wise men.
This fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Jeremiah who said:
In Ramah there was a voice heard: lamentation, weeping, and great mourning. Rachel weeping for her children and she would not be comforted because they are no more. Jeremiah 31:15
But when Herod was dead, behold an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt
saying: Arise and take the young child and His mother and go into the land of Israel. For those who sought the young child's life are now dead.
He arose and took the young child and His mother and came into the land of Israel.
But when he heard that Archelaus reigned in Judea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. Even so+, being warned by God in a dream, he turned aside into a part of Galilee.
He came and lived+ in a city called Nazareth, thus fulfilling what was spoken by the prophets: He shall be called a Nazarene. Judges 13:5
