Matthew Chapter 4 1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.2 When He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.3 And then the tempter came to Him and said: If you are the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.4 But Jesus answered and said: It is written: Mankind+ shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Deuteronomy 8:35 Then the devil took Him up to the holy city and sat Him on a pinnacle of the temple6 and said to Him: If you are the Son of God, cast yourself down. For it is written: He will give His angels charge over+ you. In their hands they will bear you up lest at any time you dash your foot against a stone. Psalm 91:11,127 Jesus said to him: Again it is written: You shall not tempt the Lord your God. Deuteronomy 6:168 Again, the devil took Him up to an exceedingly high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them.9 And he said to Him: All these things will I give you if you will fall down and worship me.10 Then Jesus said to him: Get away from here Satan. For it is written: You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve. Exodus 34:14 Deuteronomy 10:2011 Then the devil left Him and behold angels came and ministered to Him.12 Now when Jesus heard that John was cast into prison, He went to Galilee.13 Leaving Nazareth, He came and lived+ in Capernaum on the sea coast in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim. Isaiah 9:114 This fulfilled what the prophet Isaiah had said:15 The land of Zabulon and the land of Nephthalim by the way of the sea beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles~. Isaiah 9:116 The people who sat in darkness saw great light. To those who sat in the region and shadow of death, light is sprung up. Isaiah 9:217 From that time on Jesus began to proclaim+ the Word and to say: Repent. For the Kingdom of Heaven is very near+.18 Then Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen+.19 He said to them: Follow me and I will make you fishers~ of men.20 Immediately+, they left their nets and followed Him.21 Going on from there+, He saw another two brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in a boat with Zebedee their father mending their nets. He called them22 and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed Him.23 Then Jesus went all around+ Galilee teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming+ the Gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds+ of sickness and all kinds+ of disease among the people. Isaiah 35:524 His reputation+ went throughout all Syria. They brought to Him all kinds of sick people who were taken with many different+ diseases and torments and those who were demon+ possessed and those who were lunatics and those who had paralysis+ and He healed them. Isaiah 35:525 Great multitudes of people followed Him from Galilee and Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judea and from beyond Jordan.
