Matthew Chapter 9

Then He entered a boat and crossed+ over the sea and came to His own city.
And behold they brought to Him a man sick with paralysis+ lying on a bed. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the one sick with paralysis+: Son, be of good cheer~. Your sins are forgiven.
And behold some of the scribes said within themselves: This man blasphemes.
Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said: Why do you think evil in your hearts?
For which+ is easier to say: Your sins are forgiven. Or to say: Arise and walk.
But this is done so that you may know that the Son of man has authority+ and power on Earth to forgive sins. Then He said to the one sick with paralysis+: Arise, take up your bed and go to your house.
And he arose and departed to his house.
When the multitude saw this, they marveled and glorified God who had given such authority+ and power to men.
As Jesus passed forth from there+, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office+ and He said to him: Follow me. And he arose and followed Him.
And it came to pass, as Jesus sat down to eat+ in the house, behold many worldly+ people and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples.
When the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples: Why does your Master eat with worldly+ people and sinners?
But when Jesus heard that, He said to them: Those who are whole do not need a physician, but those who are sick do.
Go and learn what this means: I will have mercy and not sacrifice. For I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. Hosea 6:6
Then the disciples of John came to Him saying: Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples do not fast?
Jesus said to them: Can the children of the bride chamber mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the Bridegroom will be taken from them and then they will fast.
No one puts a piece of new cloth onto an old garment, for what is put in to fill it up takes from the garment and the tear+ is made worse.
Nor do people+ put new wine into old wineskins+ or else the wineskins+ break and the wine runs out and the wineskins+ perish. But they put new wine into new wineskins+ and both are preserved.
While He spoke these things to them, behold there came a certain ruler and worshiped Him saying: My daughter is even now dead, but come and lay your hand upon her and she will live.
Jesus arose and followed him and so did His disciples.
And behold a woman who was diseased with an issue of blood for twelve years came behind Him and touched the hem of His garment.
For she said within herself: If I may but touch His garment, I will be whole.
But Jesus turned around+ and when He saw her He said: Daughter, be of good comfort~. Your faith has made you whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
When Jesus came into the ruler's house and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,
He said to them: Withdraw+. For the maid is not dead but is sleeping. And they laughed at Him scornfully.
But when the people were sent out+, Jesus went in and took her by the hand and the maid arose.
The report+ of this+ went throughout+ all that land.
When Jesus departed from there+, two blind men followed Him, crying and saying: Son of David, have mercy on us.
When He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him and Jesus said to them: Do you believe that I am able to do this? They said to Him: Yes Lord.
Then He touched their eyes saying: According to your faith be it to you.
Their eyes were opened but Jesus strictly+ charged them saying: See that no one knows about this.
But when they went away+, they spread His reputation+ widely+ throughout all that country.
As they went out, behold they brought to Him a speechless+ demon+ possessed man.
When the demon+ was cast out, the speechless+ man spoke and the multitudes marveled saying: It was never so seen in Israel before.
But the Pharisees said: He casts out demons+ through the prince of the demons+.
Jesus went to all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming+ the Gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion on them because they fainted and were scattered widely+ like sheep having no shepherd.
Then He said to His disciples: The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, so that He will send forth laborers into His harvest.
