Matthew Chapter 15

Then scribes and Pharisees from Jerusalem came to Jesus saying:
Why do your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.
But He answered and said to them: Why do you also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
For God commanded saying: Honor your father and mother. And: Anyone who curses father or mother, let them die the death. Exodus 20:12 Exodus 21:17
But you say: Whoever says to their father or mother: It is a gift, by whatever you might be profited by me;
and does not honor their father or their mother, they shall be free. Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.
You hypocrites. Well did Isaiah prophesy of you saying:
These people draw near to me with their mouths and honor me with their lips but their hearts are far from me. Isaiah 29:13
However, it is in vain that they worship me, teaching as doctrines~ the commandments of men. Isaiah 29:13
Then He called the multitude and said to them: Hear and understand.
It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles, but what comes out of the mouth that defiles.
Then His disciples came and said to Him: Do you know that the Pharisees were offended after they heard this saying?
But He answered and said: Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up. Proverbs 2:22
Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind, and if the blind lead the blind both will fall into the ditch.
Then Peter answered and said to Him: Declare to us this parable.
Jesus said: Are you also yet without understanding?
Do you not yet understand that whatever enters in at the mouth goes into the belly and is then purged+?
But the words spoken+ by the mouth come from the heart and they defile a person+.
For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, and blasphemies.
These are the things that defile a person+, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a person+.
Then Jesus went from there+ to the borders+ of Tyre and Sidon.
And behold a woman of Canaan came out of the same borders+ and cried out to Him saying: Have mercy on me O Lord, son of David. My daughter is grievously oppressed+ with a demon+.
But He answered her not a word, and His disciples came and begged+ Him saying: Send her away for she cries out after us.
But He answered and said: I was not sent but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Then she came and worshiped Him saying: Lord help me.
But He answered and said: It is not good+ to take the children's bread and cast it to dogs.
And she said: True Lord, yet the dogs eat of the crumbs that fall from their masters' table.
Then Jesus answered and said to her: O woman, great is your faith. Be it to you even as you will. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
Jesus then departed from there+, came near the sea of Galilee, and went up into a mountain and sat down there.
Great multitudes came to Him, having with them those who were lame, blind, speechless+, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet and He healed them; Isaiah 35:5
so that the multitude wondered when they saw the speechless+ to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see and they glorified the God of Israel. Isaiah 35:5
Then Jesus called His disciples and said: I have compassion on the multitude because they have continued with me now three days and have nothing to eat. I will not send them away fasting lest they faint on the way.
His disciples said to Him: From where should we get+ so much bread in the wilderness as to fill so great a multitude?
Jesus said to them: How many loaves do you have? They said: Seven and a few little fish.
Then Jesus commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground
and He took the seven loaves and the fish and gave thanks and broke them and gave to His disciples and the disciples gave to the multitude.
They all ate and were filled and they took up, of the broken pieces that were left, seven baskets full.
Those who ate were four thousand men plus+ women and children.
Then Jesus sent away the multitude and took a boat into the borders+ of Magdala.
