Romans Chapter 1 1 From Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle and separated to the Gospel of God.2 God promised this Gospel before+, through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures.3 This Gospel concerns His Son Jesus Christ, our Lord, who was made from the seed of David according to the flesh. John 7:424 Jesus was declared to be the Son of God, with power according to the spirit of holiness, from+ the resurrection from the dead.5 From Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all the nations, for His name.6 You also are called by Jesus Christ to be among the nations.7 To all who are in Rome, loved by God, and called to be saints. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and Lord Jesus Christ.8 First of all, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all. Your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.9 For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the Gospel of His Son: Without ceasing, I make mention of you always in my prayers,10 asking+ if now or when I might have a prosperous journey, by the will of God, to come to you.11 For I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to which you may be established:12 That is, comforted together with you through the mutual faith of both you and me.13 Now I do not want you to lack understanding+, family+. Often times I intended+ to come to you so that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other nations+. But until now, I was prevented+.14 I am obligated+ to both the Greeks and the Barbarians, to both the wise and the unwise.15 So, with all that is in me, I am ready to proclaim+ the Gospel to you who are in Rome also.16 For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ. For it is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes. Both to the Jew, first, and also to the Greek.17 For the righteousness of God is revealed from believing faith~ to faith fully persuaded. As it is written: The righteous+ shall live by faith. Habakkuk 2:418 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all the ungodly and unrighteous who hold back the truth by unrighteousness.19 Because what may be known of God is revealed+ within them, for God has shown it to them.20 For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen and understood through the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so unbelievers are without excuse.21 Because, even though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were they thankful. But they became vain in their imaginations and their foolish hearts were darkened.22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man and birds and four footed beasts and creeping things.24 Therefore, God gave them up to uncleanness in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies between themselves.25 They changed the truth of God into a lie and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator who is blessed forever. Amen.26 For this reason+, God gave them up to vile passions+. For even their women did change the natural use into what is against nature.27 Likewise the men also abandoned+ natural joining+ together with a woman and burned in their lust toward one another, men with men, doing+ shameful+ things and receiving in themselves the fitting+ repayment+ for their error.28 And accordingly+, since+ they did not like to acknowledge+ God, God gave them over to a reprobate~ mind, to do those things that are not proper+.29 Therefore, being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, and maliciousness, they were also full of envy, murder, strife+, deceit, and ill will+. And they were whisperers, Matthew 15:1930 backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,31 without understanding, covenant~ breakers, given to unnatural+ affections, unforgiving+, and unmerciful.32 Yet even knowing the judgment of God, that those who commit such things are worthy of death, they not only do them, but also consent+ to those who do them.
